Blogger's Inspiration Day '15

idkuva
photo © Indiedays

Just wanted to share these few snaps from Indiedays' blogger event which was held last Saturday at restaurant Maxine in Helsinki. It had been a while since I last attended this event, because the previous one was held during my blog absence and I didn't dare to go back then, having an unactive blog and all :'D

Other than last time, the venue was much nicer this time around and had a pretty nice view from the balcony! I asked Sini to come to the day event with me, but went to the evening gala by myself and ended up hanging out with Milja and Sara there.

The event itself was pretty dull, goodiebag was full of things I don't really need and I managed to miss the food in both events and I don't know how that's even possible :'D Meeting other bloggers is always fun though! The music in the evening gala was way too loud for chatting with people, so me, Milja and Sara sneaked our way to the "closed" part of the venue so we could actually sit down and chat with eachother lol.

Overally it was a fun day and it was nice to get to know some people better! I kinda wish in the future they would have a bit more variety in the companies represented in the event... They've been pretty much the same every year and I don't know how many times you can collaborate with the same companies.

See ya!

TOKYO'14: bars and partying

Well... This post feels a bit awkward to me, because I've been getting this kind of messages on social media since last summer: "lol you went to Japan only to drink" or "have you done anything else except partying?". I just want to say WHAT THE FREAKING F WHY does it bother some of you so much what I do on my holiday? :D I'm an adult and I'm allowed to do what the hell ever I want when I'm on my hard earned holiday, whether it be drinking or sleeping in my room if I feel like it. Also I feel like nobody had complained if I would've gone to, let's say Spain for example, and done the same thing because that's what you (or atleast us Finns) usually do there. But even if it was Japan, why is it any different? I don't get it.

I wouldn't usually post about drinking in my blog but since it was kind of a big part of the trip (I'm not going to lie) and also a lot of fun so I thought why not. Also this: drinking doesn't always mean getting piss ass drunk. Just saying.

Last summer was exceptional in many ways, and one of the reasons was that so many of my Finnish friends happened to be in Tokyo at the same time. Some of us are/were living there and some of us were on a holiday. My favourite though was Ayu who flew from Seoul to Tokyo for one night just so she could party with us :'D On my first weekend we decided to have a get-together and go partying with the fellow finns and there was 9 of us in total. That's a lot.

Tuomas had picked an izakaya in Kabukicho and reserved a room for us for the evening. I don't remember how much it cost for each of us, but the price included drinks, food and karaoke and it was quite cheap. We spent hours in our tiny cave-like room and the drinks kept coming. I actually have a video of Tuomas and Jenni singing (Memeshikute) by Golden Bomber with quite inappropriate improvised finnish lyrics, but let's leave that unposted for their sake...

After the izakaya closed, we went to buy more drinks from konbini (=convenience store) and continued our party on the streets of Shinjuku... The shitty thing about Tokyo is that if you miss your last train, you will spend the whole night out (unless you want to take a taxi home). And the last train goes somewhere around 1am if I remember correct.

However, one of the greatest and craziest nights in Tokyo started with me and Anna going to Odaiba beach to enjoy the view of Rainbow Bridge and enjoying drinks bought from a konbini close to the beach. We ran into some guys from Dubai at the beach and chatted with them for a while.

Soon after the guys disappeared somewhere and we took a taxi to Shinjuku and ended up going to this bar called PSY, which later became our usual place to hang out at in Tokyo. The funny thing is that out of all the bars, we ended up going to the one that happened to be a somewhat finnish/northern metal bar. Or atleast the bartenders were huge Stam1na fans and had Finland's and Norway's flags hanging behind the counter. One of them knew some finnish and could sing along finnish hits from years ago. I found this video from Youtube filmed by some random finnish guy and I can swear nothing in the bar has changed ever since.

I have no idea where the marker in PSY came from, but each time it seemed like the greatest idea to write stupid stuff on eachother. Here's a tip: don't teach japanese guys dirty words in finnish or it will end up on their arms and Facebook statuses.

I might've had the worst walk of shame the next day when I woke up at my guesthouse with Anna and had to go buy something to drink from the vending machines outside the house. I was wearing pyjamas, slippers, and still had the writings on my arms. I managed to drop some coins on the ground while going back to the house and a group of babbling grandmas were walking towards me. They went completely silent when passing me, heh.

You probably guessed it already, but not all of these pics are from the same night. Anyway, here's some norwegian guy with dangerous moves dancing on the bar stand, an old finnish comedy clip, Ufopornoo!!, playing on the TV and I still have no idea how they even knew about it. And then there's me and Anna and some random guy on the background.

In the first pic is me with some new friends from the bar: Tomo and Olly!

And in the second & third one there's one of the bartenders, Ryutaro, and some norwegian girl who claimed we met at the meetup in Oslo in 2011, which I can't really recall but I guess we did.... :D

One thing I have to mention about japanese alcohol, it's so weak. I don't know if it's just me having a high tolerance but I could easily have 10 drinks and not feel any different. I'm not saying this to brag, it was quite annoying to be honest. If you wanted to get drunk, you had to go to a konbini to buy your own vodka and drink that before going to a bar.

The 3% canned drink in the in the picture I only bought because of it's funny name: ほろよい (horoyoi) which sounds like "horo joi" in finnish and can literally be translated as "the whore drank". Well, you bet she did. And it tasted quite good too.

↑ Checking out some bars with Anna and Jenni.

Karaoke and drinks at バカモンロック with Chriss and Fin, and later joined by Ashley ↓

And now, time to end this booze-scented post with the best pic ever taken of me. I was taking a "break" during my first night in PSY and Anna decided to take some snaps of it. This picture has been my Facebook cover photo ever since, haha.

blogger's inspiration day

idkuva
My bb Alex flew back to Finland a week ago to spend some quality time with us during the week. Last saturday, I attended to Indiedays' Inspiration day & blog awards gala with him and Sini. We also met up with Sari and her friend Saga and spent the day together.

The day part consisted of meeting other bloggers, making contacts for possible future collaborations, attending to different blog related lessons (we didn't attend to any of them tho, heh) and enjoying food & drinks. They also had different contests you could take part in and everybody got a goodiebag when they left.

I don't have any pics from the evening or my look for the evening gala except for the one I posted on Twitter, but there wasn't as many activities there as there was at the day event. They basically just handed out the awards (congrats to those who won something!!) and when that was done, everybody started drinking lol.

I personally enjoyed the day event more, because I was feeling a bit nauseous at the evening gala due to drinking too much of Fresita, ugh. After the gala, we continued the party at my place before heading to a club for the rest of the evening. Overally it was a fun night and it was so nice to meet people - old and new - again!

I CAN EXPLAIN!!

Yo! It's been a while, huh? Well, I have a perfectly good reason for why I have been absent lately. I just finished working 3 weeks in a row (yes, weekends included) and last weekend was finally my first one off in a long while and I just felt so tired and decided to rest and do nothing, haha. Sorry not sorry, but I think I deserved that.

Here's some pictures I've snapped with my iphone and ipad during these few weeks, enjoy! I'll get back to you soon with a more proper update, I just want to get this done so I can move on :)

Anyway, I was working my ass off with this beauty expo thing called "I Love Me" that we attended with CesarsShop. We were there last year too, see my post about it here. The main idea was to sell nail products and aside with that, we did some manicures etc. It was so much fun! I was mainly chatting with people, telling them about our products and on Sunday, I got to do some nails too!

I was so happy when many of my blog readers came to say hi to me and even wanted to take pictures with me (omg!) aaaah, I hope I didn't look terrible or give a bad impression of myself.. :D And you know, we had work outfits so my look was kinda boring haha. Anyway, it was nice to chat with you all, thank you so much ♥ I hope you had good time at the expo as well.

I also had a bit shorter nails for the expo so I was able to handle money faster. I mean, it's not impossible with my long nails either but coins can be a bit tricky and it takes more time. Well.. I got bored to having short nails already and I made longer ones last weekend... :'D More about them later!

Some of the graphics at our booth was made by me btw! Like the wall you can see on the bottom left picture.

On the same weekend as the I Love Me -expo was, there was a blogger event arranged by TradeTracker that I attended. It was same event that was held last year too, and based on my previous experience, I was really looking forward to it.

I was upset that it happened to be on the same day as the first day of the expo. It started really early too (2pm) and my work didn't end before 5pm. I had to rush from the expo to home to change clothes, fix my hair and make up and then hurry to the place where the event was held.

Well... when I got there, I must say I was a bit disappointed. I know I missed the official part so I have no idea how that was, but like when I got there, everybody was super drunk already. I got drinks thrown at me during the first 10min of my stay and it was overally just badly arranged. Like, last year you got your goodiebags when you left and went to get your coat, but this year they had laid them on the tables who knows how early, so everybody had taken whatever they wanted and there was almost nothing left when I got there..
Well, I managed to find a bag that had a random necklace in it, some magazines and a watering can(?!!). Umm, ok.

I know I shouldn't complain about getting free stuff but last year I carried three bagfulls of stuff home and actually have found really good products I still use, because of it. I have no idea what I should do with this year's stuff. If someone who's reading this post attended too, please share what you got! I have a feeling that everybody got totally different things.

Anyway, the event wasn't a total disaster, because I got to meet my fellow blogger girls again and also made new friends and had a lot of fun with them! ♥ Luckily we will meet soon again!

Oh yeah, we had name tags too. The funny thing is that my name tag had my old blog address and even that was written wrong. Lol.

Aaaand to another blogger event! I got invited to LUSH's pre xmas party where they told us about their new products for Christmas season and it was really interesting! I'm not really familiar with LUSH and everybody else who were invited, were beauty bloggers and seemed to already know everything about the brand and their products, so I felt a bit out of place there, hahah...

I'm not so interested in the soap stuff and I don't have a bath tub so I have no use for their bath bombs, however they're super cute and everything. Instead I got some samples of their hair products that I was really excited to try out! I got samples of their silver shampoo and this conditioner. So far so good. Ofcourse the silver shampoo doesn't give my hair any color because I need a lot stronger products, but it's a good one to use in between!
They also had lip scrubs and lip tints I'm interested in trying. Maybe in the future, hmmm.

I also met up with super sweet Alexandra before she left Finland once again and I'm glad she managed to arrange a little time for me in her busy schedule. It was nice getting to know her better, since we always seem to meet eachother in different events but never had any alone time before.

Yeah, that's it for know! A lot has happened and now I finally have time for blogging again, yay!
See you later!

BDAY, NYE & sale shopping

As you probably noticed, I took a small break from blogging for the rest of December. I had time to celebrate Christmas and New Year AND I also turned 22 couple days before NYE ! I've been having a small style&hair crisis lately and since my last post, I've only taken less than 10 photos with my camera.
Anyway, a small break did good and now I'm all set up for blogging again and my head is full of ideas for upcoming posts!
Just wait for it, hihii.

I came back to Helsinki on 27th, after Christmas celebrations, the next day I had work and after I got off, I just had to go check the sales ! Here's what I found:

Shiny, distressed biker jacket from Gina Tricot costed only 15(!!!) euros and it reminded me of some Visual Kei -band but whatever. I'm sure I'll use it ! The rest of my finds are from Seppälä x Tiia Vanhatapio collarboration collection, all 30% off.

All these together were less than 50€, can you believe it? This is like the first time ever I find something from the sales, last year I only found normal priced stuff :D

idkuva

We celebrated New Years Eve (and actually my bday too) at Oona's place. We all gave 10€ for Alex who cooked us tons of delicious food with dessert and stuff !

It was all sooo good, maybe even better than usually because everyone was like starwing and the food wasn't ready much before 12. We had to hurry and eat quickly so we wouldn't miss the moment when the year changes.

Kakkuja ja boolia !

Cakes and punch !

Guess what's happening in this pic? :D We laughed so hard we soon got visited by two policemen at 6am.. Some neighbour must've got pissed at us making noise.

....photobooth kuvia :D En tajuu miten nää jaksaa naurattaa aina uudelleen ja uudelleen.

....photobooth pics :D I can't understand how taking these is STILL funny.

I have no words. Can you name all the people in the pic?

Minä, Tuomas ja Niklas vuoden vaihteessa hytisemässä partsilla !

Me, Tuomas and Niklas freezing on the balcony on NYE !

Loppuun vielä pari kavereiden kuvaamaa videota ! Minä leikkaamassa synttärikakkua...

And finally couple videos filmed by my friends ! Me cutting my birthday cake...

...ja se hetki kun vuosi vaihtui !

...and the moment when the year changed !

cocktails from outer space?

We kinda forgot to arrange any kind of pre-xmas parties with my friend group this year. Luckily, I got an invitation to Ufo Shot & Shaker's pre-xmas party which was held at Shaker last Thursday ! I was able to bring an avec with me, so I asked Alex to join me and come enjoy good cocktails, food and music.

Hahahah, where did the focus go? Anyway, we were able to ask for any kind of drinks we could just imagine, tell our ideas to the bartenders at Shaker and they granted our wishes, so cool.

idkuva
...ja mm. tällaisia juomia meidän ideoiden pohjalta syntyi ! Super hyviä kaikki, en kestä.

...and this is how our ideas transferred to cocktails ! They all tasted amazing, I can't even.

Hahahah.

We both look so awkward and chubby in this pic.. I guess free drinks and food worked their magic on us? Hahahah.

Kolme uusinta Ufoa shotteina.

These three are the new flavors. Pinkyway, Blasteroid and Fruzion. While the light pink Ufo Shot Original (not in this photo), works as a shot, I'd rather mix these three with something else :D

They served us few different salads and bread, nomnom.

Had a nice pre-xmas party even tho we didn't get to celebrate with xmas hats and all that. We both got one bottle of Ufo Shot to bring home, so let's see if we'll make some cocktails with them on New Year's Eve  :)

Nelly High Heels

Long time no see ! I've been working hard this week with all the stuff we've planned for December at work. And now, on Friday, my on-the-job learning period is finally over and I will return to school on Monday. Time has passed super quickly, because I started working at the beginning of April and now it's already over... Not really looking to going to school, I just wanna continue working, haha.

And actually I will. I've already filled all the empty spaces in my calendar when I don't have school, with work.
Only half a year to go till I will graduate, and I need to start looking for an apartment pretty soon too, so the Spring will be quite hectic I guess.

Anyway, here's a little something about my trip to Jyväskylä last weekend:

Satuin saamaan kutsun Nellyn High Heels -bileisiin juuri ennen lähtöäni, joten ilmoittauduin niihin ja pyysin Sarin mukaani. Aika jännä että sain kutsun just Jyväskylän bileisiin (jotka sattu oleen just sillon ku olin itekin siellä), enkä esim. Helsingin bileisiin.

No mut ehkä ihan hyvä näin.

I happened to get an invite to Nelly High Heels -party just before leaving to Jyväskylä. I thought it could be nice so I decided to go and asked Sari to come with me. I'm still wondering why did I get the invite to Jyväskylä's party (and luckily I happened to be there at the right time), and not to the Helsinki party?

But I'm actually happy about that. There's so much more people in Helsinki than in Jyväskylä so you probably would've had to queue all day to the party in Helsinki, when in Jyväskylä we stood in the line for less than 2 hours ! Why? Because the first 100 to arrive got goodie bags and got to choose a free pair of heels !! What wouldn't a girl do for free shoes, haha.

Laskelmien mukaan, oltiin about siinä 65 paikkeilla jonossa !

Somebody counted the people in line, and I think we were at 65 or something !

Minä jonossa. Oikeesti ikävä aikaa ilman lunta kun kattoo tätä kuvaa....

Me while waiting to get in. Oh how I miss that time without snow !! (we just got shitloads of snow in Helsinki couple days ago if you didn't know).

Me and Sari !

When we finally got in, we got cards where to write our top 3 favourite shoes. There was a huge variety where to choose from ! All of the shoes were placed in glass cabinets.

Varmaan haluatte tietää mun top kolmosen? :D Tällaiset valitsin:

I guess you want to know my top three? :D Here's what I picked:

1. PARKER

Mustaa ja niittejä, kelpaa mulle. En tosin tiiä pysynkö pystyssä noin kapeella ja korkeella korolla mutta ainakin voin istua bileissä nää jalassa ja nää näyttää kivalta kenkähyllyssä.

Black (fake)leather and studs, me likey. Tho I have no idea if I will ever be able to walk with these, but at least they will look nice when sitting in a club and when placed on my shoe-shelf.

2. JINN

Out of these three, this pair is probably gonna be the one I will be wearing the most if I get them.

Tässä vaiheessa en osannu enää valita niin pistin 3. sijalle vaan jotkut :--D Oon vähän nirso kenkien suhteen enkä oikein tykänny muista kuin noista kahesta ekasta vaihtoehdosta.

At this point I couldn't decide the 3rd shoe I would actually WANT (I'm a bit picky when it comes to shoes) so I just picked something. I only liked the first 2 pairs.

Later on Mia and Buu joined us and it was nice to see them after a long time !
