Cosmoprof Bologna 2014

Hi guys! It's time for a little report and not-so-little photospam from my trip to Bologna, Italy earlier this month. As I told you before, the trip was a short 3 days & 2 nights kind of thing to check out what's new with nails at Cosmoprof beauty fair.

The building you can see in the pic above, was the hotel me and my boss, Satu, were staying at during the trip.

The hotel was a bit far away from the center, but that was okay because it was only a 5 minute walk away from the place where the beauty fair was held! The weather was kinda gloomy like this for the first two days, but that didn't matter much since we spent most of the time indoors anyway.

So, let me tell you a bit about Cosmoprof. It's a huge beauty fair that is arranged every year in Bologna, Las Vegas and Hong Kong. And well, Italy being the closest one to Finland, we decided to go there. But it would be soooo cool to visit Las Vegas or Hong Kong someday!

The fair consist of all kinds of beauty related things, such as hair, nails, spa, perfumes, cosmetics and a lot more. We - working with an online store for nail stuff - obviously were there to check out everything nail related. The area was so big, you needed a map to navigate yourself to the places you wanted to go, haha.

So now here's some photos I took during the trip, enjoy!

a costume idea for next Halloween maybe?

Have I died and landed on the nail polish heaven? This was the booth O.P.I's Italian distributor had.

The upcoming O.P.I x Coca Cola collection! I was so surprised to see this, because I was not expecting that many colors. I mean, come on. I literally thought it would only have colors like red, white, black and dark brown lol.

Here's me! People at the fair wanted to take pictures of my nails (or with me) all the time. It was fun at first but once someone stopped me, more people appeared and it was getting harder and harder to move on and I had to say no to some people so we could continue checking the booths haha.

Yayyy, this was one of the things I was looking forward to the most! Color Club and Ruby Wing nail polishes are one of our main products that we import to Finland and it was so cool to get to see all their new collections in person! They also re-designed their bottles recently and the new design made even the older colors look new and exciting :D I think the new design is so much better than the old one. It was also nice to meet some of the people I've been emailing with for couple years!

Everything looks so pretty!

After the first day at Cosmoprof, we headed out to the city to have dinner and check out the night life. We started the night with a three course meal at a hotel where some of our colleagues were staying at, then took a taxi to the center to have some drinks at some terrace and then headed clubbing. It was a really fun night, even tho I was feeling quite terrible the next morning lol.

The last day was finally a bit sunnier and warmer!

But soon it was time to head back to the airport and fly back to Finland. The weekend went by really fast, it was so much fun and it didn't feel like work at all :) I hope we'll get some the new products we found, to Finland soon! Be sure to check out CesarsShop.fi for new products in the future ;)

Thanks for reading! ♡

how to live with long nails

The wait is finally over and my "How do you do that shit with those nails?!" -video is ready to be published! I tried to film all the things you asked me to and I hope the video turned out to be atleast somewhat satisfying! If it wasn't for Sini, I don't know how much longer it would've taken me to get this done, so huuuge thanks to her for helping me out!

I absolutely hate video editing (because I suck at it so bad), so the result isn't visually super awesome but I hope you don't mind and the point gets through anyway.

If you still have questions about how I do some things, ask away :D But I think this video should make it clear that the nails don't prevent me from doing daily stuff.

Happy watching!

playground plaid

jacket gina tricot plaid shirt choies top boy london x long clothing leggings choies
beanie boy london shoes kookenkä shades choies necklace choies

Whoop whoop whaddap guys? I thought I'd show you my current favorite casual look that I've been wearing on many occasions lately! I got some money to spend at Choies a while ago and picked a few things from their store that I'm wearing in these pics.

My number one favorite piece of these is the long red plaid shirt, which actually is a dress, but you can wear it as a cardigan if you don't button it up! I was actually planning to buy a similar piece from Black Moral (1, 2), but it sold out super quickly and I couldn't get my hands on it so I went with the second best option. The red one seems to be sold out atm, but they still have it in green here which is as cool as this one.

The other things I picked were the leggings, the necklace and the sunglasses WHICH I KNOW are knock-offs of the House of Holland shades I've drooling over for a long time but haven't had the change to buy them.... Well, I wouldn't buy fake stuff but I got these for free so forgive my sins ok.
I also got this cool harness thing, but I haven't figured out an outfit for it yet.

Also, guess what!!! Remember when I asked you guys to throw some questions about my nails and how do I do stuff with them? That was like half a year ago lol but anyway. Yesterday, me and Sini finally filmed it! I'll try to get it edited during the Easter holiday so please look forward to it, ok?

blogger's inspiration day

idkuva
My bb Alex flew back to Finland a week ago to spend some quality time with us during the week. Last saturday, I attended to Indiedays' Inspiration day & blog awards gala with him and Sini. We also met up with Sari and her friend Saga and spent the day together.

The day part consisted of meeting other bloggers, making contacts for possible future collaborations, attending to different blog related lessons (we didn't attend to any of them tho, heh) and enjoying food & drinks. They also had different contests you could take part in and everybody got a goodiebag when they left.

I don't have any pics from the evening or my look for the evening gala except for the one I posted on Twitter, but there wasn't as many activities there as there was at the day event. They basically just handed out the awards (congrats to those who won something!!) and when that was done, everybody started drinking lol.

I personally enjoyed the day event more, because I was feeling a bit nauseous at the evening gala due to drinking too much of Fresita, ugh. After the gala, we continued the party at my place before heading to a club for the rest of the evening. Overally it was a fun night and it was so nice to meet people - old and new - again!

SHOP MY CLOSET!

Hi guys! I went through my closet couple weeks ago and I noticed I had LOTS of stuff I don't really wear anymore. So I decided to get rid of them and went and took photos of everything and finally opened a store for them! By clicking the pics or the link above, you can access to my Tictail store and if you see anything you like, you can buy it!

You probably remember the old "blogikirppis" store I had, right? Well, this one works a bit differently, because you don't need to bid for the items. Just add the items you like to your cart and you can pay right away with PayPal or credit card (Visa Electron should work as well)!

What's also new is that from now on, I will ship outside Finland too! You can see the shipping & handling costs by clicking "about" on the sidebar. Finnish buyers are also able to choose "pick up" as a delivery method.

Please remember that there's only one of each item, so if you see something you want, don't hesitate for too long! Happy shopping!

Ps. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

watercolor nails

Hi guys! As I told you in my previous post, I'm leaving to Italy tomorrow! And since it's a beauty fair I'm going to attend, I wanted to do my nails before the trip so they will be as fab as possible! Here's what I came up with yesterday:

idkuva
What do you think? Can any of you tell what I was inspired by? :D If not, click here to see the inspiration for my design.

The polishes I used are: Sugar Plum by Ciaté (light purple), my typical gold glitter combo: O.P.I When Monkeys Fly!, Color Club Take The Stage, Color Club Gingerbread and Essie Blanc (white). I also used white art liner for painting the designs on the purple nails and two shades from the new O.P.I Sheer Tints -collection: Be Magentale With Me (pink) and I Can Teal You Like Me (blue).

When I first heard about O.P.I releasing the Sheer Tints -collection, I wasn't interested at all. But after seeing some designs made with them, I totally changed my mind and thought it was actually a pretty cool idea and had to get my hands on them. They're color-tinted top coats if you're wondering btw. You can use them to change the shade of your nailpolish or create different watercolor-like designs with them! Cool right?

Luckily they also come in these mini sets, so I decided to get one of them for myself. I made a tiny step-by-step tutorial about these nails. Here's how to get the watercolor look:

1. Start with painting the nail with white. Apply 2-3 coats to get an opaque result. Let it dry.

2. Once the white base has dried, get your Sheer Tints ready by opening the bottles, because you need to do this step kinda quickly so the nailpolish won't dry before you're done. Use the nailpolish bottle's own brush and apply the polish to your nail with random strokes and overlay the colors with eachother. As I said, it's important to be fast while doing this, so the colors will blend together easier.

3. Once dry, decorate with studs, pearls and rhinestones of your choice! Apply a top coat or sealing gel to secure your desing.

DONE!

I hope you liked the nails and the mini tutorial! See you again next week!
