Kauhee kun alkaa kertyä vaan hirmu pitkä lista aiheista mistä pitäis bloggailla. Pitäsköhän kehitellä joku "kirjotan joka ilta" -tyylinen systeemi ettei kerkee aiheet muodostumaan jonoksi asti. Okei, eipä mulla oo nyt kuin kolme juttua mistä pitäis kirjotella, mutta kauhistuttaa jo valmiiks kun tiedossa on kaikkee blog worthyä aktiviteettiä tuleville päiville.
Nojoo. Postaan nyt ekaks parin viikon takaisista I Love Me messuista joilla olin töissä, ennen kun kerron teille miten meidän Venäjän reissu meni !

Ugh, I hate when it comes to the point when I have too much stuff to blog about. Maybe I should try blogging right away everyday when something has happened, so the topics don't get stacked? Idk. Okay, I have maybe like three posts to write atm but I know there will be more blogging worthy stuff coming up very soon.
Anyway, I'm gonna write about the I Love Me expo now, where I was working couple weeks ago, before I tell you how our trip to Russia went !

Elikkä tässä nyt ihan ekaks kuva uusista (ok, ei kyllä enää kovin uusista) kynsistä, kun muutamat teistä pyyteli kuvaa :) Kokeilin ekaa kertaa tollasta "valuvaa" lakkausta perus ranskalaisten kärkien sijaan, onnistui ihan hyvin mun mielestä kun dotting toolilla väkerteli ! Kaikki muut lakat paitsi musta, on uusia Ruby Wing lakkoja jotka vaihtaa väriä kun auringon UV-säteet osuu niihin ! Eli vähän tällainen 2in1 systeemi ! Ylempänä kynnet siis sisävalossa, ulkona näyttää tältä →

Sooo at first, here's a pic of my new (well, not so new anymore) nails since few of you were asking for a pic/nail related post :) I tried to do a "dripping" mani for the first time, instead of just doing french tips. I think it turned out pretty nice (used a dotting tool for the droopy things). All the polishes, except the black one, are from the new Ruby Wing - color changing polish -collection. The polish changes it's color when in touch wih the UV rays of the sun ! Pretty cool when you can wear two colors at the same time. In the first pic, you can see how the nails look indoors, and in the second one how they are outdoors.

Otin tän kuvan kylläkin sisällä myös vilautettuani kynsiä UV lampun alla, koska tähän aikaan vuodesta ei hirveesti tota auringonvaloa ole. Vaihtavat toki väriä myös pilvisellä säällä, mutta paljon hitaammin enkä jaksanut odotella. Mutta sama efekti siis. Ja kuten kuvasta huomata saattaa, jos kynnellä on liikaa liima esim. koristeiden kohdalla, UV-säteet ei pääse läpi eikä näin ollen väri vaihdu kunnolla näissä kohdin. Väriävaihtavat lakat mitä näissä käytin, on Festival (glitter), Sweet Rose (pinkki) ja Myth (lila).

Actually the second pic is taken indoors too after I put my hand under an UV lamp for a sec. Sadly, there's not much light outdoors at this time of the year. The color changes on a cloudy weather too, but it takes much longer time and I didn't wanna wait. Anyway, the effect is the same ! As you might notice from the pic, if you put too much nailglue on the nail, the UV rays can't get through it and the color doesn't change properly on those areas. The polishes I used, are Festival (glitter), Sweet Rose (pink) and Myth (light purple). Sadly we cannot ship these outside Finland, so if you got interested, you might need to buy them from somewhere else :(

Noniin, nyt vähän niistä messuista siis ! Messut kesti koko viikonlopun perjantaista sunnuntaihin. En oo koskaan aiemmin ollut töissä messuilla, joten oli jänskää. Tässä kuva meidän osastosta perjantai aamuna ennen messujen aukeamista vieraille.

Finally, something about the expo ! The expo lasted the whole weekend, from Friday to Sunday. I have never worked at an exhibition before so it was kinda exciting for me. Here's a pic of our booth I snapped on Friday morning before they opened the doors for the guests.

Lauantaina messuosastolla sulkeutumisajan jälkeen. Olin vielä perjantai aamuna ajatellut että vois laittaa korkkarit jalkaan. Mieli kuitenkin muuttui aika helposti 10 tunnin seisoskelun jälkeen... Jalat huusi hallelujaa matalillakin kengillä.

On Saturday at our booth after the closing time. On Friday morning I thought I could wear heels someday. But I changed my mind pretty easily after standing still for 10 hours.... My feet hurt so much even with flats.

Askartelin messuja varten esitteet koulutuksista ja käyntikortit ! Näitten lisäks tein myös hinnastot ja kaikkee muita lippulappusia :)

I made these flyers about our courses and and the business cards too ! Along with these, I also made the price lists and other stuff :)

Meidän messulookkiin kuului toi sydänpaljettipaita ja pinkki rusetti. Muuten piti olla jotain mustaa. Yritin vähän vaihdella asua joka päivä, perjantaina mulla oli mustat glitter leggingsit noiden kanssa, mutta empä ottanut kuvaa.

Our expo outfits included this sequined heart t-shirt and the pink hair bow. Everyhing else had to be black. I tried to make different outfits with them for every day, and on Friday I wore black glitter leggings with these, but I didn't take a pic of it.

Kaapumummo-virpi lähdössä Messukeskukseen aamulla. Ilma oli kostee joten suojasin mun tukan huivilla, ettei tukka menis pilalle ennenkuin pääsisin edes perille (kävi perjantaina koska en tajunnu), toimi !

Me before leaving home on Saturday morning. The weather was moist so I had to protect my curls with a scarf so they wouldn't get ruined before I got to the place (happened on Friday because I was stupid), this trick worked !

Satu ja minä kassalla. Pääsin opetteleen kassan käyttöä messuilla, jee ! Aluks oli vähän ongelmia (kuten tässä kuvassa, siksi ilme krhm) mutta ei se loppupeleissä ollutkaan sit vaikeeta :D

Sunnuntaina kerkesin vähän itsekin kierrellä vähän messuilla, mutta en löytänyt mitään sen kummempaa ostettavaa vaikka kaikkee kivaa olikin tarjolla.

Showstopperilla oli meidän osasto ihan meidän vieressä, ja sieltä sain mukaan parit Tweezermanin jutut ! Harajuku lovers matkapeili joka on helppo sujauttaa laukkuun. En oikeesti voi enää ymmärtää miten oon pärjännyt ennen ilman peiliä? Oon tsekkaillu meikin kuntoa esim. iPodin takakuorella tai etsinyt jonkun kiiltävän pinnan lähiympäristöstä. Eli tää on ehkä joku paras juttu ikinä, söpökin vielä !
Lisäksi sain vielä Betsey Johnsonin ruusukuvioiset pinsetit, kyllä näillä kelpaa nyppiä kulmakarvat ja asetella ripset paikoilleen. Kalpenee mun vanhat Prismasta ostetut 2 euron tylsät minipinsetit näiden rinnalla....

On Sunday I had a little time to check out other's booths at the expo. Didn't really find anything to buy, even tho there was lots of nice things available.

Anyway, Showstopper.fi had their booth next to ours, and I got this Harajuku lovers compact mirror from them. Cannot understand how I managed to live without one for so long. I used to check my makeup with the back cover of my iPod or find the closest mirror-like surface. So this is like the best thing ever, and it's super cute too !
Also got new rose print tweezers, designed by Betsey Johnson ! I guess I can throw away my old 2€ supermarket mini tweezers away now?

Juhlittiin eilen Halloweenia, hieman epämukavissa asusteissa tosin. Eipä oo ennen tullut pukeuduttua pahviin mut nyt on sekin koettu !

Kaikki lähti siitä kun mietittiin Sinin kanssa miten ihmeessä pukeutuis kuluttamatta hirveesti rahaa. Istuskeltiin Picnicissä syömässä ja googlasin ipadilla "halloween costume ideas" jonka jälkeen löyty kuva jostain pikkutytöstä paperinukke asu päällä.

Tuumasta toimeen siis, nappasin pari pahvilaatikkoa töistä, ostettiin muutamat maalit, siveltimet ja kuminauhaa ja käytiin töihin.

We celebrated Halloween yesterday and I can't really figure out anything else as uncomfy as cardboard to wear. Well, one thing less in my bucket list now !

Everyhing started with me and Sini, sitting at Picnic and I googled "halloween costume ideas" with my ipad and we ended up finding this pic of a kid wearing a paper doll costume.

Now we had the idea, the next thing was to go buy some paint and brushes and I grabbed couple cardboard boxes from my work so we could start making our outfits.

Ei tajuttu ostaa ihan pientä pensseliä jolla ois saanu tehtyy yksityiskohdat tarkasti. Kokeilin tussia mutta huonoin lopputuloksin... Ei oikein tarttunut :D

We forgot to buy a small brush for tiny details so I tried to make some with a marker. Didn't go as planned.. heheh :D

Kaikista haastavinta oli kuitenkin saada asut päälle... Kiinnitettin noi kuminauhoilla niskan taakse ja vyötärölle. Jouduin omaani kyllä korjaileen illan aikana pariinkin otteeseen kun kuminauhojen teippaukset irtoili...

The most challenging part was to get dressed tho... We attached them to ourselves with rubber bands around our neck and waist. And well, I had to fix my outfit couple times during the night because the rubber bands got teared apart..

Mun asuun kuului mekon ja rusetin lisäksi myös upea Chanel -laukku :---D Josta irtosi kahva illan aikana, ahahahha.

Along with the dress and the bow, my outfit included a Chanel bag :---D Which broke because the handle got ripped, ahahah.

Etkoilujen jälkeen jatkettiin keskustaan baareilemaan. Porukka hajaantui osittain tässä vaiheessa mutta suurin osa minä mukaanlukien, jatkoi Bäkkärille.
Otin jossain vaiheessa mun pahvimekon pois, koska sen kanssa oli lähes mahdotonta liikkua ihmismassassa.

After the pre-party we took a bus to the center and went clubbing. The group got split at this point but most of us, including me, went to bar Bäkkäri.
At some point I took off my cardboard dress because it was almost impossible to move in the crowd of people.

Sain hiljattain meilin Grouponilta, jossa kysyttiin olisinko halukas testaamaan heidän diilejään. Tottakai olin !

Oon kironnut tätä mun matkakuumetta täällä blogissa varmaan sata kertaa jo, ja jonkin aikaa sivuja selattuani silmiini pisti tarjous Pietarin matkasta. Arvatkaa mitä tein? No varasin sen :D

Eli homma meni näin: 
Ostin matkan saamallani lahjakortilla > Kuitti sähköpostiin tarvittavine tietoineen > Ja eikun varaamaan reissua matkan järjestäjältä = Valmista !

Tämän jälkeen sain vielä sähköpostiini läjän tulostettavia papereita, joissa oli matkaliput ja muuta tärkeetä infoa. Nyt ollaan sitten all set ja maanantaina se olis sit nenä kohti Venäjää.

I was contacted by Groupon recently and they asked if I was interested in trying their deals. Ofcourse I was !

I've probably told you like million times how bad my travel fever is, and after browsing their site for a while I found a special offer for St. Petersburg trip. Guess what I did? Booked it ofc :D

So it went like this: 
Bought the trip with my giftcard > Got a receipt of it to my email with needed information > Booked the trip from the company who arranges the trip = Done !

After that I got an email with my tickets and other important info about the destination. So now I'm all set and on Monday, we're heading to Russia.

Mennään laivalla ja hytti on neljälle hengelle joka siis tarkoittaa että mukanani tulee myös Sini, Alex ja Heikki ! Matka alkaa maanantai iltana ja ollaan yötä laivalla. Tiistai vietetään maissa Pietarin ihmeitä tutkiskellen, illalla palataan takaisin laivalle ja suunnataan takaisin kohti Helsinkiä.

Jännittävintä tässä onkin se etten koskaan oo käynyt Pietarissa saatika muualla Venäjällä, vaikka oon hirveesti halunnut. En puhu venäjää (paitsi "anteeksi, nimeni on käyntikortti"... tai ainakin luulen että sanon sen oikein, tosi tarpeellinen lause, joku opetti joskus) JOTEN käännynkin nyt teidän, lukijoiden puoleen:

Oon tässä plärännyt ties mitä travel guideja netin syövereistä ja pari paikkaa onkin mielessä mitkä pitää tsekata, mutta mitkä on teidän mielestä katsastamisen arvoisia paikkoja Pietarissa?

Mulla ei myöskään oo oikeen minkäänlaista käsitystä siitä, millaista Venäjällä on? Muuta kuin että kohdekaupunki on mitä ilmeisemmin aika iso :--D Pitääkö esim. varoa taskuvarkaita ja olla tarkka rahoista? Arvostan hirmu paljon jos viitsitte jakaa omia kokemuksianne Pietarista/Venäjästä yleensäkin !

We're going by boat and the cabin is for four people so this means I'm taking Sini, Alex and Heikki with me ! Our trip begins on Monday evening and we're spending the night in the boat. On Tuesday we have plenty of time in St. Petersburg, by evening we'll return back to the boat and travel back to Helsinki.

The most exciting part about this trip is that I've never been to St. Petersburg or anywhere else in Russia, but I've always wanted to visit there. I don't speak russian (except I know how to say "excuse me, my name is a businesscard"... atleast I think so, very usefull, somebody taught me years ago) SO, I'm gonna ask you, my lovely readers:

I've been browsing internet travel guides and I have couples places in mind already, but if you've been to St. Petersburg / live(d) there, please tell me some places that we should definitely check out?


I thought some of you might know since on my top10 blog views, Russia is 8th.

I don't really have any idea what St. Petersburg / Russia in general is like, so I will really appreciate all your tips ! How common are pickpockets/thieves and should I be extra careful wih my money?

Oon vähän tällanen että lähtisin vaikka Vinku-Intiaan tilaisuuden tullen, mutta Grouponilla näytti olevan kaikkee muutakin kivaa ! Esim. kauneudenhoito ja hyvinvointi juttuja tai vaikka hiustenpidennyksiä. Eli voi hyvinkin olla että enskerralla kokeilen jotain kivaa ihan täällä Suomen rajojen sisäpuolella !

I'm the kind of person who would travel about anywhere if I get a chance, but Groupon had some pretty good deals beauty & wellness wise too. So next time I'm gonna try something new, I might as well do it inside Finland's borders !
